Peripheral Neuropathy is caused by the damage of our peripheral Nervous system, It is a communication network that connects organs and limbs to the central nervous system.

Peripheral nervous system takes information and commands from brain and send them throughout the body. It is responsible for cold, heat, pain and touch sensations in limbs, as well as it also controls movements of muscles. Peripheral neuropathy refers to the damage of single nerve or group of nerve that is the part of peripheral nervous system. Diabetic neuropathy refers to the damage of peripheral nervous system caused by diabetes.

Causes of Diabetic Neuropathy.

It is a most common complication of diabetes. Almost, 60-70 % of diabetic patients experience diabetic Neuropathy. It is often caused by chronically high blood sugar.

High Blood Sugar damage nerves in the limbs and other parts of the body. It also weakens the wall of the blood vessels that supplies oxygen and other vital nutrients. Damaged nerves cannot effectively manage the communication between body and brain. thats why, patient may not feel cold and heat sensation in the hands, feets and legs. Damaged nerves can also leads to numbness, loss of sensations and pain in the extremities.
